Chiropractic Adjustment
We practice specific chiropractic adjustment to establish normal alignment and function, by reducing subluxation.
These adjustments take pressure off the nerves to restore normal nervous system integrity and optimal health.
Our DRS System™
Eight out of Ten will see a physician for back pain some time in their lifetime. After cold and flu, back pain is the number one cause of lost work. In fact 6.5 million people are at home in bed right now because of low back pain.
Recovery from back pain can take up to 4-6 weeks which averages to 93 Million days of lost work due to back pain every year in the United States.
Surgical relief for low back pain only constitutes 3% to 5% of those injured in any given year. The remaining 95% to 97% of the injured low back population is left to rely on other treatments such as bed rest or physical therapy that have varying degrees of success. Many procedures such as surgery often leave patients with other problems to contend with, like compromised surrounding discs. In many cases these discs eventually need surgery themselves.
Even given the potential for complications and failure from low back surgery, the total number of spine operations in the US alone approached 500,000 last year.
Given these facts many pain management experts agree that it only makes sense to avoid radical surgical intervention with a safe, non-invasive low back pain strategy like spinal decompression.
8 out of 10 low back pain sufferers find tremendous relief through the use of spinal decompression. This time-tested, doctor approved, solution to your lower back pain is the answer you've been waiting for!
The excruciating pain caused by disc protrusions which exert pressure on nerves can be relieved by creating a "vacuum" in the center of the disc through a process called decompression. Decompression literally sucks the escaped Nucleus Pulposus gel back into the center of the disc, relieving the pressure on surrounding tissues and nerves.
Therapy
You'll find various forms of therapy at Elite Chiropractic and Wellness Centers.
Here are a few:
Low Volt Muscle Stimulation - Helps reduce tightness and tension in muscles, and promotes healing in soft tissues.
Hydroculator/Cryotherapy (Heat/Ice) -
Heat is used to relax tense muscles by bringing increased blood flow to affected area. (used mostly in chronic conditions)
Ice Packs help relieve swelling, inflammation and edema by restricting blood flow to affected area. (used especially in acute conditions)
Traction - Both manual and mechanical traction is used to decompress the spine and help relieve pressure on the joints and nerves.
Intersegmental Traction Table (The Rolling Table) - A patient favorite, also known as the "feel good" therapy. Lying down on this table while rollers massage up and down your spine, helps establish normal fluid movement in the joints and disc between each vertebrae.
Ultrasound - This deep penetrating therapy is used for inflammation and irritation of affected areas. Ultrasound is great for Bursitis, Tendonitis, and Rotator Cuff injuries.
Rehabilitation
Research has shown the combination of stretching and strengthening exercises of your body’s core muscle groups, is one of the most effective treatment for chronic back and neck pain. Elite Wellness Centers has state of the art MedX rehabilitation equipment. One of our doctors will custom tailor a program just for you. When combined with Chiropractic treatment, the results are superior.

Acupuncture
What is it?
Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and to improve normal function. This is done by inserting needles and applying heat or electrical stimulation at very precise acupuncture points.
How does it work?
The classical Chinese explanation is that channels of energy run in patterns through the body and over its surface. These energy channels, called meridians, are like rivers flowing through the body to irrigate and nourish the tissues. An obstruction in the movement of these energy rivers is like a dam that backs up.
The meridians can be influenced by needling the acupuncture points; the acupuncture needles unblock the obstructions at the dams, and reestablish the regular flow through the meridians. Acupuncture treatments can therefore help the body's internal organs to correct imbalances in their digestion, absorption, and energy production activities, and in the circulation of their energy through the meridians.
The modern scientific explanation is that needling the acupuncture points stimulates the nervous system to release chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These chemicals will either change the experience of pain, or they will trigger the release of other chemicals and hormones which influence the body's own internal regulating system.
The improved energy and biochemical balance produced by acupuncture results in stimulating the body's natural healing abilities, and in promoting physical and emotional well-being.
While acupuncture is often associated with pain control, in the hands of a well-trained practitioner it has much broader applications. Acupuncture can be effective as the only treatment used, or as the support or adjunct to other medial treatment forms in many medical and surgical disorders. The World Health Organization recognizes the use of acupuncture in the treatment of a wide range of medical problems, including:
- Digestive disorders: gastritis and hyperacidity, spastic colon, constipation, diarrhea.
- Respiratory disorders: sinusitis, sore throat, bronchitis, asthma, recurrent chest infections.
- Neurological and muscular disorders: headaches, facial tics, neck pain, rib neuritis, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, various forms of tendinitis, low back pain, sciatica, osteoarthritis.
- Urinary, menstrual, and reproductive problems.
- Acupuncture is particularly useful in resolving physical problems related to tension and stress and emotional conditions.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments needed differs from person to person. For complex or long-standing conditions, one or two treatments a week for several months may be recommended. For acute problems, usually fewer visits are required, and for health
Are there any side effects to the treatment?
Usually not. As energy is redirected in the body, internal chemicals and hormones are stimulated and healing begins to take place. Occasionally the original symptoms worsen for a few days, or other general changes in appetite, sleep, bowel or urination patterns, or emotional state may be triggered. These should not cause concern, as they are simply indications that the acupuncture is starting to work. It is quite common with the first one or two treatments to have a sensation of deep relaxation or even mild disorientation immediately following the treatment. These pass within a short time, and never require anything more than a bit of rest to overcome.
What are the needles like? Do they hurt?
People experience acupuncture needling differently. Most patients feel only minimal pain as the needles are inserted; some feel no pain at all. Once the needles are in place, there is no pain felt. Acupuncture needles are very thin and solid and are made from stainless steel. The point is smooth (not hollow with cutting edges like a hypodermic needle) and insertion through the skin is not as painful as injections or blood sampling. The risk of bruising and skin irritation is less than when using a hollow needle.
Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy is extremely beneficial for the overall well being of anyone. For thousands of years healers have recognized the effects of various techniques for maintaining a strong, healthy body. Besides relaxation and stress management, there are several immeasurable results, such as releasing toxins, increasing blood flow, balancing energy, and stimulating mental alertness. A skillful massage has an impact onevery area of the body.

Muscle Tension Scan
The INSIGHT™ Millennium technology objectively helps us to:
1. Detect areas of nerve disturbance
2. Document and monitor your results
3. Deliver the appropriate chiropractic care
The Insight Scan features three painless, non-invasive tests that will help us characterize abnormal activity surrounding your spine. This activity can be associated with a subluxation or other forms of spinal dysfunction.
- The Muscle Balance or Symmetry Pattern Scan measures the amount of 'pull' the muscles surrounding the spine are exerting. When the spine is out of alignment, it causes a muscle imbalance, resulting in fatigued or weak muscles along the spine.
- The Thermal Scan measures temperature differences between each side of your body. When the communication between the nervous system and blood vessels is disturbed, it causes the body's thermostat to malfunction, producing an imbalanced temperature reading along the spine.
- The Surface Electromyography Scan measures how well the motor nerves are working by reading the amount of currrent found in the muscles. Subluxations disturb the function of the nerve, causing an abnormal amount of electrical current flowing to your muscles.
