Vertical Alignment Front
5. Stand directly in front of the subject, approximately 4
feet away.
6. Check that the nose, the chin, the center of the chest,
the navel, the inseam of the pants and the space between the ankles
align.
Vertical Alignment Side
7. Step directly to the side of the subject, approximately
4 feet away.
8. Check that the ear, shoulder, hip and ankle
align.
Horizontal Alignment
9. Step directly behind the subject, approximately 4 feet
away.
10. Inspect the position of the ears, the shoulders and
the hips. They should be aligned horizontally; perpendicular to the
floor.
If this posture check indicates that there is a posture
problem, it is likely that degenerative changes to the bones are underway.
Over time, these degenerative changes will lead to chronic pain. This
person should be seen for a complete spinal evaluation. |
